Span of control and chain of command
- Span of control: The business owner of Aktive Building and Construction controls the supplier, subcontractors and laborers, who operate in the business.
- Chain of command: The business owner passes instructions to all employees within the business including:
- Business administration - second in charge, refers to the business owner.
- Subcontractors - refer to business owner
- Employees - refer to business owner
- Suppliers - refer to business owner
Recruitment of Human Resources:
Personnel are acquired through:
- TAFE
- Word of mouth
- Australian Apprenticeship Board
Maintenance of Human resource:
Human resources are maintained by:
- Checking staffs wellbeing
- Director keeping in contact with apprenticeship board, and training colleges.
- Administration check in with Fair Work Australia, that the business is complying with legal rates of pay and allowances to ensure the employees are being cared for and paid properly and on time.
Employee qualification:
Training and education for different personnel:
- Director of business: Has to undergo yearly courses to keep up with new technologies and new regulations that are associated with building and construction. Director does these courses to update building license.
- Administration: Need to be trained in how to use new technology. For example new computer software.
- Apprentice: Has to study at TAFE for 4 years, to be able to work in a building environment.
- Sub-contractors: Have to have their own insurance. They must do their own training courses to keep up with new laws and regulations.
